Boyd Excels, Guardians Earn Statement Win Over Dodgers
Impressive Performance from Young Starter
Triston McKenzie turned in another dominant outing for the Guardians on Tuesday night, limiting the Los Angeles Dodgers' high-powered offense to just one run over six innings. McKenzie struck out nine batters and walked only one, improving his record to 4-3 on the season.
Guardians' Offense Delivers Clutch Hits
The Guardians' offense came up with some big hits when they needed them most. Amed Rosario drove in the game's first run with a single in the second inning, and Jose Ramirez added an RBI single in the fourth. Josh Naylor provided the biggest blow, a solo home run off Dodgers' starter Tony Gonsolin in the fifth inning.
Bullpen Seals the Victory
The Guardians' bullpen turned in a solid performance, with Sam Hentges, Nick Sandlin, and Eli Morgan combining to allow only one hit over the final three innings. Morgan picked up his sixth save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.
Guardians Continue to Surprise
The Guardians' win over the Dodgers is their third straight victory and improves their record to 25-23 on the season. Despite being picked to finish near the bottom of the AL Central, the Guardians have shown a lot of fight and have played some of their best baseball in recent weeks.
